The December month is upon us at Maristhill, and the activities staff has hit the snow sliding!
The decorations were put up in two days as soon as our Thanksgiving festivities were over, and this month is full of exciting events for our residents.
Highlights include a visit by Santa Claus for pictures and presents on the 17th. Thank goodness he could fit us in the week before Christmas with all the preparations and what not!
As a lead-in to St. Nick, Donna Lee’s Legendary Ladies of Country Music will be featured on the 16th. This is Donna’s first time ever at Maristhill. She is a professional performer who will be showcasing some of the most famous names of women in country music.
Let’s not forget about the Christmas Baking class with our Dietary Director, Glenn. Glenn is going to show us how to make one of his signature holiday treats and here’s the best part, we get to eat it at the end!
We also have two Family Christmas Parties to look forward to with entertainment (a favorite is former Platters lead singer Tony Funches!) and catered treats. In addition, Maristhill will be visited by a local high school acapella group from Hudson, Massachusetts named Camarata. Jeanette McLellan and her students will be performing for us on December 12th in the chapel. Camarata has been coming to Maristhill for a few years now and although some of the faces change, the quality of their music does not. We welcome them with open arms and cannot wait to have them back.
There is so much more going on throughout the month so be sure to check our monthly calendars.
